5 Reasons to Get Wedding Eyelash Extensions

Are you looking for simple yet stunning makeup ideas for your wedding photos? Wedding eyelash extensions are your answer! If you are anything like me, then you hate the overly-done makeup look and prefer something more natural and earthy. One of the best ways to achieve this is with wedding eyelash extensions. Wedding Eyelash extensions create an alluring, captivating effect without looking caked up or overdone. They provide a subtle, natural look that is perfect for any wedding photo. With eyelash extensions, you can get the perfect combination of simplicity and beauty that will make your wedding photos timelessly beautiful.

Wedding Eyelash extensions can be a great benefit for your special day for several reasons:

Enhanced appearance: Eyelash extensions can make your eyes look more attractive and give you a glamorous and sophisticated look. They can add volume, length, and thickness to your natural lashes, making them look fuller and more defined.

Time-saving: With eyelash extensions, you don’t have to worry about applying too much makeup and removing mascara or false lashes on your big day, saving you time and effort. My advice for your special day, keep it simple and natural looking (My specialty) – yet not too natural, as photo and video make-up is usually more dramatic.

Long-lasting: Eyelash extensions can last up to several weeks, which means you don’t have to worry about them falling off or smudging during your wedding day & even your Honeymoon!

Waterproof: Eyelash extensions are waterproof, which means they won’t be affected by sweat, tears, or humidity.

Low maintenance: Eyelash extensions require minimal maintenance for the 2-3 week time after your initial set, and you can easily touch them up after your wedding day to ensure they look perfect if you are taking off for holiday not straight after your wedding.

Not only will these wedding eyelash extensions last through the ceremony, but they will also stay put during all the dancing, laughter, and joyful tears that come along with the celebrations. Plus, they eliminate the need for touch-ups or reapplications throughout the event – leaving you more time to focus on enjoying every precious moment.

Overall, eyelash extensions can be a great addition to your wedding day look, enhancing your natural beauty and helping you feel more confident and glamorous.

How Long before the wedding you should plan this?

To fully enjoy your experience :

Schedule your trial set a few months before your wedding day. This will give you enough time to enjoy the results and make any necessary adjustments.

Bring inspirational photos to show your overall “mood” for the wedding day make-up, hair, and photos you want to take. This will help them understand your vision and create a look that meets your expectations.

Be honest with your eyelash artist/stylist about what you like and don’t like. If you’re not happy with the initial results, speak up and ask for changes.

Take photos of your trial set and examine them closely. This will help you determine if you need to make any adjustments before your wedding eyelash extensions set.

Wear your trial set for a full 2-4 weeks to see how it holds up. This will give you an idea of whether or not it will last through your wedding day festivities/honeymoon ect.

Some of my work
Wedding X LASHED

By following these tips, you’ll be able to make the most out of your wedding eyelash extensions trial set and ensure that you’re happy with your chosen style on your wedding day.

On your wedding day, you want to look your best and feel like yourself. You don’t want to be a completely different person on the happiest day of your life. That’s why many brides opt for wedding eyelash extensions to enhance their natural beauty without looking too overdone.

Wedding eyelash extensions are a great option because they are applied using individual eyelashes, giving you the perfect look while still looking natural and beautiful. They give you fullness and length that can’t be achieved with mascara alone and make sure that you get the perfect eye look for your wedding day.

Watch a quick Youtube video about Wedding Eyelash Extensions Click Here For a Video

“My wedding was a dream come true and that’s in large part due to Aiste’s talent. She did my lashes for the big day and they were absolutely stunning. My guests told me I look so stunning with minimal make-up and I felt like a princess! After the wedding I left straight to honeymoon for 2 weeks and that was a life saviour. I felt as I am ready all the time without looking tacky. I couldn’t be more thankful for Aiste and her amazing work. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a talented lash artist!”

Cleanse the area morning and night to the cleanser provided;

Apply a “rice grain” amount of aftercare ointment with the cotton bud on the treated area.

Be sure not overly apply, as this will suffocate the skin and delay healing;

Never put ointment on a wet or damp tattoo.

Important reminders

-Use a fresh pillowcase while you sleep;

-Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of colour;

-No facials, Botox, chemical treatments or micro-dermabrasion for 4 weeks;

-Avoid vigorous exercise for 2- 3 days, 1 week if possible;

-Avoid direct sun for tanning for 4 weeks;

-Awards topical make-up and sunscreen on the area while it heals;

-Do not pick or scratch the treated area;

-Do not swim for 7-10 days.

What to expect

Day 1 The area looks textured and slightly more dramatic in appearance. It will be tender and slightly swollen.

Day 2 The area looks very dark and bold, colour will be reddish in the area will be quite tender.

Day 3-4 The tenderness will begin to subside; the area will still look dark and thick; if you received Ombre brows they will begin to look as though they are “cracking”.

Day 5. The area is getting itchy and a layer of stabbing may be beginning to form; if you received Mickroblading, the fine hair strokes that were created may be hidden.

Day 5-7 Scabbing will form and begin to peel away. Don’t get scared as this is ok and totally normal.

Day 7-10 Scabs will flake away and the area will be way too light and perhaps even grey in colour and missing spots.

Day 14 – onwards Healing is almost complete. The colour and definition of hair strokes/ shading will return. The colour will begin to even out and look natural.

Week 4-6 Book a Top Up to even out the final shape touches, colour and shade.

Astise is a 2023 rebrand of LASHED & PROUD which was established in 2018 after I took a leap of faith and decided to change careers. Biology degree from my home country was not giving me the job of my dreams and seeing the shortage of qualified eyelash extension technicians and quality driven services I soon dived deep into this “side hustle”.

My education started in 2018 in Lithuania , where I am originally from. Being inspired by lash artists around that part of the world I did see a big difference in quality being provided here in Australia, hence I chose to travel back and get my education there. Being what I call „all rounder“ – being certified and experienced in eyelashes/ eyebrows & education gives me flexibility so that my mind would not get bored by doing just one thing. And I believe once you have hight standards for one thing, you can multiply them into your „sister“ projects.

After crafting the skill in my living room I soon got employed in multiple salons where I worked for over 2 years before taking another big leap and teaming with another brand to take on their clients and to run Beginner Courses for their students.

With a second round of pandemic, I had to make a business call and shut down training & service facility in the city and part from the business I was affiliated.

Setting up to work from home and ditch commute to work and stress related with running a studio/ salon I started to really see the big picture of why I even chose to become a lash & brow artist.

The popular „be your own boss“ slogan now has a meaning to it. Finally , I can pick & choose my work hours, be solely responsible for my earnings and be the seeder and a reaper of my hard work.

For those who seek services, my only goal is to boost your confidence, make your routine easier and love yourself just a little more. It all starts there, with that spark that you get leaving my studio. I don’t know how about you , but when I feel my best I become my best.

For those who seek to learn I can assure, I will give all my knowledge so you could build your own little (or big!) Dream job. My deepest hope and the big „why“ is to empower people to be financially independent and to be able to give them something to look forward to.

With the passion for quality services I aim to grow and to share this knowledge with our clients & students.For this reason I take my own education further each year adding and refreshing knowledge via different channels.

“Nice lashes aren’t cheap and cheap lashes aren’t nice” – someone said it and it became my favourite quote to this day!

Just as important as finding a good artist, is determining if your skin is suited for eyebrow tattooing....

Just as important as finding a good artist, is determining if your skin is suited for eyebrow tattooing. Your age, overall health and skin quality all need to be taken into consideration for the safety and best possible outcome.

Unfortunately a lot of conditions can heavily compromise the effectiveness of cosmetic tattooing. So it is important to inform your technician if you have any existing conditions or are on medication. You may still be eligible for the procedure, but need to adjust your expectations. Results will vary from person to person.

Some of the primary things to consider is being of 18 years old, for our younger clients we advice Hybrid Eyebrow Tint.

→Read more about Hybrid Tint

Before Considering Eyebrow Tattooing

If you are considering botox, please do this at least 2 weeks before your eyebrow appointment in order to allow the botox to settle.

If you have lip fillers, it is recommended to wait at least 2 months before getting your lips tattooed. If you implant colour too soon you will be implanting colour above the natural line. When the lips shrink and return to normal size, the lip line will be off.

You cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding.

→What should I know before coming to the procedure?

If you have a skin condition like eczema, psoriasis, keratosis pilaris and dermatitis your skin is in a constant state of unrest and shedding and therefore won’t hold the pigment very well.

The same goes for conditions like chronic acne and rosacea. The inherent nature of this type of skin causes easy bleeding, which once again means your skin will not retain the colour properly.

Excessively oily skin can cause those tattooed hair strokes to blur together and give off an unwanted solid effect instead of a naturally feathered look.

Deep wrinkles can make the overall look appear uneven.

Moles, bumps and any raised skin will also be unable to retain the pigment. If you have them in Your eyebrow area, we will have to work around them so also minimise the risk of aggravating them.

Unfortunately cosmetic tattooing is not for you if you’re prone to keloid scarring.

It is important to not be sunburnt for your procedure.

If you had permanent makeup done previously you will need to send a clear close up photo (or better come for consultation) of your existing tattoo to determine if I can work with it or if you need to consider tattoo removal prior to the procedure. Cover up is a tricky procedure and has to be considered case to case.

Some of Medical conditions that also makes you not a good candidate can be but not limited to:

If you have haemophilia or a heart condition it is absolutely not recommended that you get any form of permanent make up done as this puts you in a high-risk position.

If you’re undergoing chemotherapy you will have to wait until your treatment is finished.

Diabetics generally heal a lot slower. If the condition is controlled, diabetics may go ahead with a cosmetic tattooing procedure, but need to be prepared for a longer healing period.

Trichotillomania can cause scar tissue in the skin to be prominent, which does not allow the colour to heal properly.

Accutane/Retin-A – If you have been taking acne medications such as Accutane or Retin-A within the last year you have an altered skin condition that will not heal well after the procedure. It’s very important that you wait 6 months before tattooing the skin. Retinol and Vitamin A creams are very similar and should be discontinued 3 months prior to the procedure.

Latisse – Eyelash and eyebrow growth serums bring extra circulation to the area which results in more growth of hair/lashes. This can cause the skin in that area to be hypersensitive and bleed easily. It is recommended to discontinue the use of these products at least 3-6 months before your treatment.

I can not stress enough , how important is to really trust, research & invest into something that is semi-permanent on your face. I think we all hear some stories , this is just one simple article Read Further.

Have You ever experienced uncomfortable eyelash extensions just a couple of days after a fresh new set? I...

Have You ever experienced uncomfortable eyelash extensions just a couple of days after a fresh new set?

I would quickly categorise this into 3 sections and will share some insights into why it might have happened & how to follow proper eyelash aftercare to prevent it all.

“Stickies ” in new your eyelash extension set ;

Eyelash extensions applied too close to the skin;

Proper eyelash extension aftercare;

First of all, I would like to address the quality of work done. There are two main reasons why eyelash “feels” and aftercare can be compromised – just because of possible mistakes the technician is doing. For one, if Your new eyelash extensions have so-called “stickies” you would feel eyelashes “pinching”. As if you want to constantly itch them, yet when You brush them it feels absolutely normal. That feeling would not come straight away. I would say it would take 3-7 days after your set, as your eyelashes need to grow a bit, before starting to pull each other. This practice, if happens constantly, can cause a hell of damage to Your or Your client natural lashes, causing prematurely forced shed. When this is happening time after time – it can cause micro-injuries inside the eyelash follicle and eyelashes can stop growing or start growing inwards causing a painful lump, that would need to be attended to by a doctor. Why and how your eyelashes get glued together is another whole new topic, but just to name a few

eyelash extension technicians might not be using the right speed glue;

the technique itself can have main faults;

maybe it is just too much “volume” too quick with too poor of the technique.

The second from uncomfortable eyelash extensions – eyelash technicians can be doing it wrong by applying eyelashes too close to the skin (sometimes even glueing them onto the lid – scary I know). This would be felt straight away or the next day after a new eyelash extension set and would ease out in the first week (roughly) – again because eyelashes are constantly growing, shedding and changing. Over that time by daily brushing and washing, you would loosen up the little spots where the glue touched the skin. As for a specific uncomfortable feeling – it would be kind of scratching your or clients eyes, they would report a “glue in my eye” feeling, especially if the lower layers of eyelashes with extensions glued closer than it should be. Also, brushing them would feel
“relieving” as it would itch the lid. Also, this mistake can actually cause lid irritation, which would cause them to swell and be mistaken for eyelash extension allergy.

From my personal experience – when that happens clients have a constant need to scratch them. This is not only affecting retention but can be the reason why a client can get conjunctivitis or so-called “pink eye”. A lot of times conjunctivitis can happen anytime to anyone, but constant dirty (not washed) hands touching the eye area can surely boost the possibility of getting a bacteria or a virus into Your body and infect eyes.

The third of uncomfortable eyelash extensions reasons would be client aftercare at home and a proper eyelash washing routine. Same as your hair, if left unwashed for a day or two too long, your hair and scalp skin would become itchy (flaky sometimes) and obviously full of oils and environmental dirt and dust. It is the same with Your eyelash extensions, especially a more meticulous wash technique is needed when a person is wearing volume eyelash extensions. The reason washing lashes is so important is this thing called Blepharitis, and believe you don’t what that feeling. So the best way to prevent is to WASH YOUR LASHES.

Let me share some knowledge about Blepharitis. It is one of the most common eyelashes base (waterline), eyelid conditions that is characterized by inflammation, scaling, reddening, and crusting of the eyelid. This condition may also cause burning, itching, or a grainy sensation when introducing foreign objects or substances to the eye. Although blepharitis is not sight-threatening, it can lead to permanent alterations of the eyelid margin. Overall it is a result of bacteria and inflammation from congested oil glands at the base of each eyelash that happens if a person, wearing eyelash extensions, is neglecting proper wash advice. Other conditions may give rise to blepharitis, whether they be infectious or noninfectious, including, but not limited to, bacterial infections or allergies.

Prevention is as simple as routine washing of the eyelids helps subdue symptoms and prevent blepharitis. Washing each eyelid for 30 seconds, twice a day if already having all the symptoms, with a single drop of hypoallergenic soap (e.g. lash shampoo or QV sensitive wash (you can find Link here) and ample water can help. Make sure, when using any wash to wash out excess soapiness, as most of those washing products contain glycerin which also can affect retention in long run. The most effective lash shampoo that I personally use and recommend to purchase from me is Prolong lash wash link .

If you experience any discomfort in regards to your eyes- always seek help / ask questions from your lash technician and/or GP. Do not let it go as just simple prevention as this can help to avoid any of the discomforts in the future.

What is it?

It is an innovative gel dye with similar intense and long-lasting effects as Henna. It is highly pigmented, stains sparse brows and suits most skin types. It can give a dramatic or natural look, with 7 colours to mix together for your perfect match. Hybrid Brow Tint has no Ammonia. Eyelashes can also be tinted with Hybrid (more to come on that later).

How long does it last?

It lasts approx. 7 days on the skin and 7 weeks on the hair. Results vary and depend on various individual factors.

How does it compare to regular Brow Tint & Brow Henna?

Regular Brow Tint does not stain the skin and lasts on the hair for up to 2 weeks. Hybrid Brow Tint will well out-last this. As mentioned above, it’s closest to Henna in terms of its intenseness and how long it lasts; Henna lasts up to 14 days on the skin and up to 4-6 weeks on the hair whereas Hybrid Brow Tint lasts up to 7 days on the skin and 7 weeks on the hair). The main benefit in Hybrid Brow Tint compared to Henna, is the convenience. You can achieve a natural looking brow after just 10 minutes of having the tint on. For a bolder brow (more of a brow-tattoo look), Hybrid Brow Tint can be left on for up to 20 minutes. Henna on the other hand, must stay on for 20-30 minutes, so there’s a bit of saved time there (not that our customers complain about relaxing in our chairs while we up their brow game). After the Hybrid Brow Tint is wiped off, the colour continues to develop.

Is Hybrid Brow Tint for me?

Hybrid Brow Tint is for women with thin, sparse brows seeking instant fullness. In saying this, women with extremely sparse looking brows may not be suitable candidates for Hybrid Brow Tint (Brow Tint or Brow Henna may be more suitable in this instance). Those with healthy skin types which is not too oily also fit the criteria perfectly. Whether you’re after a very soft, natural looking brow or more of a bold, brow-tattoo effect, Hybrid Brow Tint can achieve these results.

How can I book in for Hybrid Brow Tint?

Is A Patch Test really essential? Because we put your safety first, A patch test is necessary for...

Is A Patch Test really essential?

Because we put your safety first, A patch test is necessary for every tinting treatment we carry out (both lashes & brows alike). It is essential that only a small amount of henna dye is applied in an area away from the eyes, incase an allergic reaction were to occur it would be in an area that would be less affected than anywhere as sensitive.

What happens if I’m allergic to the tint?

This is very rare, only clients with very sensitive skin really get any sort of allergic reaction and even if you do experience some redness or itching, it’s extremely unlikely it will be severe. Should you experience redness, or any other kind of allergic reaction splash the area with cold water and avoid using any perfume or makeup products on the area until the reaction has disappeared. Unfortunately, if you do experience any kind of reaction from the tint, we cannot carry out the tinting treatment. It’s very important that you inform us that you have had an allergic reaction, as your safety is even more important to us that beautiful brows!

How long do you need to leave a patch test on?

It will take less than five minutes. We will apply a dab of colour to your skin, usually behind your ear. Leave the colour on for 48 hours and monitor your skin carefully to see if you have any reactions. Be aware of any itching, burning sensations, or redness around the area.

I’ve had a henna colour before. Do I need a skin test?

If you have henna regularly, you won’t need another skin test. If you change your colour/brand/ technician, or haven’t had a colour for a while, you will need to have another skin test. Remember, anyone can become allergic to a colour at any time, so it doesn’t matter if you have had that henna applied before. You will still need the test to make sure you will be safe.

The allergy test cannot predict future allergic reactions.

Please consult a doctor if you have any doubts!

If you decide to go on for henna treatment without a patch test performed 48H prior your first appointment with Lashed and Proud it is upon your responsibility should you experience any allergic reactions.

If reaction occurs you must head to doctor for antihistamine and steroid medications. Do not wait as it might get worse with time.

Allergy signs: itchy and swelled skin within 24-48h
